Music to Move to

Well I sincerely hope that put a smile onto everyone’s faces. I’m probably a little late to the game on this one but I finally saw the video and now I totally get why everyone was telling me to watch it. Now that I’ve seen it I was compelled to do a little googling and OMG!!! This guy is freakin huge in Korea! And I don’t mean freakin huge; I mean FREAKIN HUGE!

Now that I’ve had my little blurb there I feel the need to share some tunes that have cropped up on my radar these past few months. It hadn’t occurred to me that I should until I was riding in the Mustang with a friend and had a convo that went something like this:

Friend: “Put your i-pod on, the radio sucks.”
Me: “Dude it’s SIRIUS, it isn’t that bad….”
Friend: “Yea but you usually have random new shit that I haven’t ever heard before. You know, bands that aren’t on the radar.”
Me: “True, true…. but I have to warm you, my music taste have been all over the charts lately.”
Friend: “Who cares, I’ll just skip it if I don’t like it.”
 15 minutes later….
Friend: “You weren’t kidding when you said you were all over the map… you like PMSing or something?”
Me: “…”

So yea… lol.  Here’s a small sampling to wet your ears with. Hope you guys enjoy and if anyone has any cool local bands or bands that are just of the radar that you think should be heard let me know and I’ll post em up.

Comicon & Stuff

Yes for those who care we did manage to score us some Comicon badges! That means for two weeks in July we will be traveling down the coast through California in another epic road trip of win! This one is supposed to be the big hollywood promo event for new things coming up in the year so here’s hoping we get to see lots of stars! More to come as we get closer to July. And that’s not all the traveling we are doing this year either. For Xmas/New Years we are all (yes all, as in the whole family) are going to Vegas for a week! i can hardly wait!

Now for some none travel stuff: (Feel free to unsubscribe if this shit annoys you to know end).

So it’s been a good long while since I’ve posted anything music related on my blog here and over the past few weeks I’ve stumbled onto two very good Indie Bands I’d like to share. They are great to listen too and I can proudly say they are the first two albums I’ve bought in ages.

First up we have Gotye!

Wouter “Wally” De Backer (born 21 May 1980), also known professionally by his stage name Gotye, (pronounced Go-te-yae), is a Belgian-Australian multi-instrumental musician and singer-songwriter. The name “Gotye” is derived from “Gaultier” (or “Gautier” or “Gauthier”,) the French equivalent of “Wouter” (“Walter” in English.) Gotye’s voice has been compared to Sting and Peter Gabriel, some fans even going to the extent of mixing Gotye’s vocals with tracks by The Police.

He has released three studio albums independently and one album featuring remixes of tracks from his first two albums. De Backer is also one-third of Melbourne indie-pop trio The Basics, who have independently released three studio albums and numerous other titles since 2002.

Grab a listen to his new album Making Mirrors.

Next up on the list is FUN.

Fun. is an American indie pop band based in New York City, New York that was formed by Nate Ruess, formerly of The Format. After the 2008 breakup of The Format, Ruess then formed Fun with Andrew Dost of Anathallo and Jack Antonoff of Steel Train.[1] Fun has released two albums, their debut Aim and Ignite in 2009 and their latest Some Nights in February, 2012.

The band is best known for their hit single “We Are Young” featuring Janelle Monae, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and Digital Songs charts. The song marks the first time in over a decade a multi-member rock band made a Billboard debut with the #1 spot in the Hot 100 since Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me” in December 2001.

Some Nights is there latest Album and is it ever good.
